AMH Update & Follicle Count

I’m happy to report that my AMH result of 0.6 WAS a mistake after all. As of today, my AMH is 1.35. While not perfect (ideal for a 32/33 is between 1.7-1.8), my level will do. For now. I’m still a little concerned about the abrupt shift (10 months ago it was 1.72), but the human body, especially when it comes to reproduction, becomes more a mystery everyday. And I’m not the only one concerned. I could detect a subtle warning in my RE’s tone that I probably should get this process moving, meaning jump onto the old IVF train sooner rather than later. There is that pig flying possibility that this IUI could miraculously be successful, but I’m not holding my breath.

As for this IUI, I’m 5-days into stims and had my first ultrasound this morning. I have three follicles around 14 mm, and one at 17 mm. My RE left a message saying they’re quite happy with my response, that I should coast tomorrow (no meds), start using OPKs (eh, I thought these weren’t required for IUI! Doh!), and baby dance daily starting now. We’ll be visiting the clinic bright and early on Sunday morning for a status check.

WithΒ  no side affects to speak of, I’m SO happy I decided to do this injectable IUI cycle before IVF. I’m now comfortable with the injections and the process seems a little less scary. If this doesn’t work, and it probably won’t , I’m ready for what comes next. More ready than I’ve ever been to conceive my future child in a lab.

Such good news! I’m so happy that there was an error. And I’m happy that the IUI process will make you feel more comfortable if you need to move forward with IVF. I think you’re trying all the right things!

I’m crossing my fingers for you on this one! Hugs!

What a relief that the last test was an error! I’m a little confused about something… if you’re doing an IUI why are you doing the deed daily? Don’t they just use the turkey baster? I’m crossing my fingers for you. If it doesn’t work and you have questions about IVF I may be able to to help answer them for you since I’m an old pro at it now.

That’s what I thought! But apparently because I got pregnant naturally a few months ago, doctor theorizes that we’ll increase our odds if we bd AND inseminate. Seems a little weird to me, but hubby is fine with it haha. And thank you so much for offering your advice for IVF… I will certainly have TONS of questions and you’ll be the first person I ask. πŸ™‚

Yeah I thought iui was an injection type thing too? The stims weren’t a problem for me for my Ivf cycle. Although when I started the progesterone my hot flashes increased lol. My worst part? Transfer. My cervix hates being messed with and they made me wait with a full bladder for over 4 hours. 😦

Same here! I guess because we got preg naturally recently she thinks it’s ok. DH’s makes a lot of sperm too so count isn’t the problem (though morphology and motility have been issues in the past). I absolutely can’t imagine waiting 4 hours with a full bladder. Why do they make you wait? I’m going to have to google that.

It was in FL and insurance doesn’t cover so since they charge so much, and there aren’t many options as to where to go I think they can get away with overbooking patients. My apt was at 11 and they didn’t take us until about 2.
